The Hop 50+ Café received a Food Hygiene Rating of 5 (Very Good) from Brighton and Hove City Council on 24 June 2021. As this was the third consecutive occasion on which they received a top 5 score, The Hop 50+ Café qualified for the Scores on the Doors Elite Award.

The Hop 50+ staff team reported that the Council’s inspector was (as always) very impressed with the standard of Food and Hygiene and Safety and Structural Compliance practiced by the Café, as well having full confidence in the standard of Café Management – to the extent that the inspector had actually brought along a student to witness an exemplary model of a site that consistently works to a high standard of Food Hygiene practice.
