The Parent Voice Advocacy Project

The Parent Voice advocacy project are pleased to announce that our funding by The Henry Smith Charity, has been extended for a further year, allowing us to continue our vital work until July 2026.

Over the past three years, we have provided advocacy support to more than 60 parents with learning disabilities across West Sussex, who are either involved in, or at risk of, child care proceedings.

As you may be aware, the project has been part of extensive independent research with Social Finance, which analysed data from 15 participating projects providing non statutory advocacy, from around the country.  The findings are compelling: for every £1 invested in advocacy, there is a £12 return in benefits to Local Authorities and the NHS.

This research, supported by Liam Conlan MP, strongly reinforces the case for investment in independent, non-statutory advocacy services.
