Protected: Impact Safety Net – old do not use

Safety Net is a children’s safeguarding and wellbeing service, we have been working with children and families across Brighton and Hove since 1995. Now that we are part of Impact Initiatives, we will continue to deliver the same projects and services but we will be known as Impact Safety Net.

Safety Net believes that:

  • Keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility
  • We all have the right to feel safe
  • There is nothing so awful that we can’t talk with someone about it

WE'RE HERE IF YOU'D LIKE TO TALK TO US FOR ANY REASON.

ABOUT MY SAFETY NET

Our aim is for children to…

  • Feel happier, more connected, less anxious and more confident.
  • Be better able to deal with challenging situations and happier to participate and try new things.
  • Learn strategies for dealing with difficult situations and how to make safer choices.

Our children’s team go into schools and work with children in whole classes, small groups or 1:1. The work can involve delivering workshops on a range of topics, consulting with children to find out the issues most important to them as well as working more intensively with children through our SNAP (Safety Net Assertiveness Programme) and (Boosting Resilience and Valuing Emotions) programmes. We also provide advice and resources to families and schools.

They made me feel better about life and like I wasn’t alone.

My favourite bit was learning how easy it was to share emotions and feelings.

If you are nervous, you should try the sessions because they help and are fun. I’ve learned how to calm down and my favourite coping strategy is five finger breathing.
