Impact’s Advocacy services help people to have a voice in important issues in their lives. Staff and volunteers assist people in getting independent advice, knowing their rights, working out what they want to say, speaking at meetings and talking to professionals. We work with people who have a learning disability, a physical or sensory impairment, acquired brain injury, or on the autistic spectrum.

One to one support
This helps people gain greater independence; we help people to find out about their rights and speak out on personal issues such as where they live or work, their children, their social relationships or their finances.
Volunteer Citizen Advocates get to know their advocacy partner over a longer period of time so they can ensure that his or her views, feelings, wishes and rights are being listened to and upheld.
Impact Initiatives relies on our fantastic team of 120 volunteers without whom we wouldn’t be able to provide many of our services. We have a wide variety of volunteering opportunities. View more
