Creative Ageing Conference in Munich

A presentation on our Ageing Well Festival received a great response when it was given by Caroline Ridley and Louise Peim at the Creative Ageing Conference in Munich this week.

The conference was the final event of a two-year programme in which ideas and good practice were shared by representatives from Brighton and Hove, Munich, Berlin, Gothenburg, Leeuwarden and Ostend. David Brindley, Public Health Specialist and Ageing Well Commissioner, also spoke on the priorities identified over the two-year programme and how Brighton and Hove will take those forward.

There were several schemes discussed from the other cities, which we would like to bring to Brighton and Hove, including one that will bring cultural activities to people who cannot currently afford to attend.

Caroline stated is it was a fantastic opportunity to talk about our successes but also to learn from the other cities. The conference’s agenda was jam-packed but we did manage to spend a small amount of time exploring the city with our hosts from Munich’s  Department for Culture.
